The Temple of Mirth & Reverence
is a branch of the Congregationalist Wiccan Association of BC, which was formed in 2005 as the CWABC North Okanagan Temple by Witches in Vernon, Kelowna, and surrounding areas, but we changed our name in 2008 to reflect our nature! We are a fun and friendly group, open to the public, which makes Wicca a celebration as well as a religious experience; just as it should be. For a few years now, we have been offering public Sabbat rituals, Wiccan religious education, and fellowship for local and visiting Wiccans and Pagans.
What is the Congregationalist Wiccan Association of BC?
The CWABC is a Wiccan "church" that was created to offer community and recognition to Canadian Witches in their religious activities. In BC, we have recognized religious representatives who can perform legal weddings (known to Wiccans as "handfastings.") We have Temples in various locations in BC and Alberta who do things in similar, but not identical ways, doing their best to serve the needs and Traditions of their local communities. All our events are open to the public and funded strictly by donation. Anyone may become a member of the organization for a small annual fee, attending three events in the course of a year, and agreeing in writing with our ethics statement.
What is Wicca?
Wicca, or Witchcraft, is an earth-based religion that celebrates divinity as male and female (God and Goddess,) and acknowledges the cycles of life and the cycles of nature as sacred events. There are many misconceptions that are publicly circulated about our faith, but it is not evil and it is not a cult. For more information, ask our local clergy.
